Hunk Anderson

-(D. 1978) was a college football coach at NC State, and Notre Dame. From 1931 to 1933, he served as the head football coach at Notre Dame, and compiled a 16-9-2 record. From 1934 to 1936, he coached at NC State, where he compiled an 11-17-1 record. From 1918 to 1921, he was an offensive guard for the Notre Dame football team, under coach Knute Rockne. From 1922 to 1926, he played for the Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Bears. In 1939, he coached for the Detroit Lions. He was named to the National Football League 1920s All-Decade Team, and is only one of two players on the list not in the Professional football hall of fame. He is a member of the College FB HOF.
